I have been contacted to say that a white tailed sea eagle has been spotted in the area. I had heard that they had done well on the Isle of Wight and were starting to look for new terriotories. The recent epsiodes of Winterwatch also confirmed this with a viewer sending in a sighting in Hampshire.
These birds are the largest UK bird of prey and was first re-introduced to the Isle of Wight in 2019. They were reintroduced in Scotland 1983. For more information on this bird you can visit the RSPB website here.
